First, separate the two conductor wires, the positive wire is suspected to be unmarked and the negative is suspected to be marked. Make sure the power sources are not plugged in and begin with the 5-volt source. Step 1: Check the polarity of the two power sources Operate the entire system from activation in the ButterflyMX video intercom.Terminate the connections in the strike lock from the power source.Show the ButterflyMX video intercom operating the relay.Terminate the connections into the relay.Properly prepare the conducting wires used.Check the polarity of the two power sources.A diode (minimum 400v, 1amp, 1N4004 type) with caps/dolphins.Altronix RB5 relay (set to 6 volt DC operation).12 volts DC output AC to DC transformer.Follow the instructions in this post to prepare an isolation relay DC strike integration. Doing so will require electrical isolation to protect the intercom from the inductive kickback. If you’re installing a ButterflyMX video intercom at a property that does not have an access control system, you can wire the intercom straight to a Direct Current (DC) powered lock.
